Nyingchi sightseeing Brief Introduction of Nyingchi Area

Nyingchi, situated in the southeast of Tibet,  meaning "sun throne" in Tibetan, is named as "Switzerland  of tibet". The beautiful Nyingchi is famous with its big Yarlung Tsangpu canyon, the deepest canyon in the world. The area has a population of 140,000 ,covering an area of  11,7000 square kilometers ,and altitude is 3000 meters on the average . The Bay  city in this area is even lower than the average. And the traditional customs makes it even more mysterious. The area is  wet and warm , yearly average temperature is on the top of 5¡æ, and  abundant in forest resource with the  coverage  of  34.3% , including  plants  of  economic  and pharmaceutical.

Brief Introductions to Main Sightseeing in Nyingchi

Basumco Mountain Lake, 3,500 meters above sea level, originates from the Nyainqentanglha Mountain and is a dozen kilometers long. Snow-covered mountains, glaciers and trees are reflected upon the lake's rippled surface. There are small islands in the middle of the Take with Lamaist temples built upon them. Basumco Lake has been opened as the first holiday resort village in Tibet. Rough highways lead to the area where there are good accommodation services.
