1. Golmu to Tuo Tuo River 370km 9-11 hours Guest house

After breakfast met and leave form somewhat Gobi city to Tuo Tuo River, views on the way changes too much just like a movie in cinema, i.e, the snow capped mountains, the mountain pass named Kunlun which is one of the cradle of Taoism, and especially the first bridge on the upper reaches of Yangtse River. Tonight you will stay in Nagchu which is the center the biggest city or town of Northern Tibet. And the accommodation is much better than last night.

3. Nagchu to Lhasa on the way visit Namtso 440 km 9-11 hours Snow-land Guesthouse

Forward to Lhasa with views of beautiful Tibet Plateau. And today’s highlight is Namtso Lake which is the highest point in your whole travel route where you seem to visit the sea not the lake in terms of its large size. In Yangpacheng 90km east to Lhasa you can jump into the hot spring either for a bathing or to enjoy the hot spring on the plateau. Upon reaching Lhasa, the center of Tibet, you have finished driving on Tibet life line and it seems that you have accessed the megapolis in New York or Paris. The welcome dinner is a la carte western food for which you maybe dream a long time.

4. Lhasa city tour including Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barchor Bazaar, Sera Monastery. Snow-land Guesthouse

After western breakfast in Snow-land Restaurant, you will visit the wonder of Tibet, Potala Palace which was Dalai Lamas’ religious and politics place and winter palace. The visit lasts the whole morning. In the afternoon right after lunch, we will take you to one of the three major monasteries in Lhasa area named Sera where you can have a deep impression by monks daily life and study and general pattern of monasteries’ structure. The first place for pilgrims’ visit is Jokhang Temple where yours is Potala Palace. Therefore inside of it, you will get the reason. Dinner will be a Tibetan Cuisine with sing and dancing show at Crazy Yak Restaurant.

5. Lhasa to Gyangtse via Yamdrok Lake and further to Shigatse Tsode Monastery Sangchutse Hotel

Depart Lhasa onward the rest of your journey, today will drive to Penchan Lamas’ Seat, Shigatse. On the way visit the Sacred lake called Yamdrok, the turquoise lake, glacier and Pelchor Tsode in Gyangtse town which is hero town due to Tibet history. You will have no problem with altitude because you have already acclimatized to it, let alone today’s height is lower than Northern Tibet.

6. Shigatse to Lhasa Tashilumpu Monastery Snow-land Gueshouse

In the morning visit Tashilumpu Monastery which the first Dalai Lama built it. Why? You may have the answer after your visit. Tahsilumpu Monastery like those you visited before is one of the six monasteries belonging to Yellow Hat Sect in Tibetan inhabitant areas. Right after the visit, go back to Lhasa via a way of all along with Yurlong Zampu River, the largest river in Tibet, also called Bramaputro River in India. Upon reaching Lhasa, you could walk to Barchor bazaar again for the souvenirs because your hotel is in the very center of Lhasa city.

7. Lhasa to Nyingchi 450 km 7 hours Post and Communication hotel or same class

Today’s high way is a little bit “high” than days before. You will re-check the truth of Tibet “Switzerland Views” and sub-tropical climate where farmer can grow bananas and rice in your point of view, with today’s drive. To tourists traveling to this part of Tibet, it seemed that it is not Tibet but sounds like Vietnam.

8. Nyingchi to Bomi county 230 km 9 hours guesthouse

Like yesterday, again the green views and colorful tree leaves smile to you. Today’s mountain pass is higher than yesterday of 2600m above sea level, on which you could overlook at the only one virginity mountain peak called Namgyabawa, and the views of maple leaves like in Canada. It is sure that you will take more pictures than before of views in Bomi County where you are deep impressed by Himalayan Mountain Ranges view but it seems to be from Nepal side.

9. Bomi to Basu 440 km 11 hours guesthouse

Come back to Northern Tibet again? The views on the way recall you of that Nagchu but different. You may also want to look at yourself in the green mirror of the lake on the way. You can tell the difference between farmers, nomads here and those you have seen days before.

10. Zuogong to Mangkam 270 km 9 hours Guesthouse

One thing should be reminded that meals in all the way from Lhasa on are better than those on Tibet life line road in terms of quality and quantity to choose. The vehicle will follow zigzag mountain road up and down where there are 96 turning, which you could attest to the saying.

11. Mangkam to Batang 280km 9 hours Litang Guesthouse

136 km far from the county where you stay last night, you finish the view in Tibet and enter to that in Sichuan with capital of Chengdu but still the area where Tibetan dwell. And this is the tough road area in which the land cruiser run at around 30 km per hour till in three hours.

12. Litang to Kangding 290 km8 hours Guesthouse

It sounds like the vehicle drives in the forests today. Kangding is famed all over China by its loving songs between boys and girls. Maybe you can meet one or two couples sing lover’s song talking about loving affairs.

13. Kangding to Chengdu 400 km 9hours finish the tour

Driving about 50 km away from Kangding, you will see a big river called Daduhe and Luding Bridge. These was the well known place in Long Match of Chairman Mao’s army, the place where China PLA fought against Chang Keshek of Kumingdang’s army. Further forward, the vehicle drives out of Tibetans residential areas and to Han Chinese area. Upon reaching Chengdu, a high quality and quantity of dinner maybe hotpot dinner welcomes you and then afterwords, the travel throughout Tibet Plateau finish

Recommendation:

1) For your comfort trip and less spending economically, we recommend that

a) 3 people or times of 3 follow itinerary “Travel thought Tibet”

b) or you may have a coach or van rented for the former journey before the second departure from Lhasa which is from Day 1 to the end of Day 6.

2) Bring sun-glasses, sun blocking hat, and sun blocking cream during all the journey.

3) Bring with you on hand a more thick clothes besides your common equipment for high altitude and cold weather, just in case the temperature suddenly changes

4) Bring an umbrella with you for your pictures if it rains unexpectedly

5) Bring with you some medicine for high altitude sickness if you are not used to the medicine in China

Note: 1) The most important thing is that please keep you yourself not getting a cold since it is very

hard to overcome on

Plateau. If you get a cold, you’d better get rid of it in mainland China before following the itinerary.

2) Check your body ready to challenge yourself against Tibet Plateau just in case.
